1990 Finals: Game 5
The '007' game
Detroit vs. Portland
92 - 90
June 14, 1990
Memorial Coliseum, Portland, Oregon
Detroit was the clearly better team in the Finals, but Portland put up a hard fight in Game 5 to try to extend the series. With 10 minutes left in the game, Portland was up by 8, but Vinnie Johnson was just heating up. Johnson went on two scoring streaks that had the game tied with time running out. That's when Johnson iced the cake, putting up a game-winning 15-foot jumper with .7 seconds left on the clock. Detroit won its 2nd title, becoming only the 3rd franchise to win back-to-back titles.
