1995 ALDS: Game 5
Iconic
Seattle vs New York
6 - 5
October 8, 1995
Kingdome, Seattle, WA
The most iconic moment in Seattle baseball history. Martinez drove home Cora and Griffey Jr. to steal the game in the bottom of the 11th in the ALDS Game 5 and advance to their first ever ALCS. The pile-up of players afterwards is a memorable image for all Seattle fans.
2001 Regular Season
A Record 116 Wins
Seattle vs Texas
1 - 0
October 6, 2001
Safeco, Seattle, WA
While the postseason didn't end how everyone would've liked, the regular season should still be celebrated. 116 wins is the most in the modern era of baseball and a record which may never be broken. Plus, striking out Alex Rodriguez to seal the victory made the win even sweeter.
2004 Regular Season
Hit History
Seattle vs Texas
8 - 3
October 1, 2004
Safeco, Seattle, WA
Arguably baseball's greatest ever hitter - Ichiro. Coming from Japan, little was known in America about the man but that would change, earning the AL MVP his rookie season in 2001. In 2004 he would break Sisler's 84 year old single-season hit record (257), finishing the season with 262 hits.
2012 Regular Season
King Felix's Perfect Game
Seattle vs Tampa Bay
1 - 0
August 12, 2012
Safeco, Seattle, WA
"King" Felix Hernandez was dominant in baseball for several years for Seattle. The Venezuelan will certainly have his number retired after pitching, unless something changes soon, his entire career in Seattle. A highlight of his time, and Seattle's baseball history, is his perfect game in 2012.
