The 1st play of the 3rd quarter was a Redskins interception by Kurt Gouveia, who returned it 23 yds to the Bills' 2-yard line. One play later, Gerald Riggs scored his 2nd touchdown of the game. The Redskin's 24-0 lead midway through the 3rd quarter is the largest shutout lead in Super Bowl history.
