Bumgarner had already won his two starts in the World Series, allowing only 1 run and 7 hits over those two games, and now he entered in the bottom of the fifth to carry San Francisco once more. Over the next 5 innings he allowed only 3 runs and saved the World Series for San Francisco, getting Salvador Perez to pop up a foul ball that Pablo Sandoval caught for the final out of 2014. Jeremy Affeldt got the win.
