Wizards vs Cleveland
85 - 81
20 April, 1997
Washington's berth in the 1997 playoffs came down to the very last game of the season against Cleveland. The winner would move on, the loser would go home. Washington trailed 35 - 44 at half but battled back and was holding a tenuous one-point lead with 1:30 to go. Juwan Howard hit his last shot with 13 seconds left to put Washington up by 4. The win gave them their first spot in the playoffs since 1988.
2002 Regular Season
Jordan's buzzer beater
Wizards vs Cleveland
93 - 92
31 January, 2002
In this regular season matchup against Cleveland, Michael Jordan once again stole the game. After a Cleveland bucket, Washington only had 1.6 seconds left to score the winning basket. Popeye Jones found Jordan rolling around a screen, and Jordan hit the jumper as time expired to get the win for Washington.
1978 Finals: Game 7
First Championship
Wizards vs Seattle
105 - 99
7 June, 1978
With the clock winding down, Seattle had whittled an 11 point Washington lead down to just 2 points. A foul on Wes Unseld netted Washington 2 more points and then a break-away by Bob Dandridge for a dunk sealed the game. The win gave Washington their first NBA Championship title.
