2005 World Series Game 2
Podsednik's Walk-Off HR
White Sox vs Houston
7 - 6
23 October, 2005
It is perhaps the single greatest game in Chicago history, and Scott Podsednik ended it with a walk-off home run. Tied up at 6 runs, Podsednik stepped to the plate after going 0-for-4 that day. Fans were hoping for a base hit, since Podsednik is not known for his power, but he was able to take the 4th pitch from Brad Lidge deep into right center to win the game. Chicago went on to sweep Houston in 4 games to take home their first trophy since 1917.
2005 World Series Game 2
Konerko's Grand Slam
White Sox vs Houston
7 - 6
23 October, 2005
Chicago had won Game 1 of the World Series but were now trailing by two runs in the bottom of the 7th. Paul Konerko walked to the plate with the bases loaded. He took the first pitch from Chad Qualls and crushed it into left field. As amazing as the moment was, it will go down as the second greatest moment of the Series next to Scott Podsednik's walk-off home run two innings later.
2009 Regular Season
Wise's Perfect Catch
White Sox vs Tampa Bay
5 - 0
23 July, 2009
2012 Regular Season
Humber's Perfect Game
White Sox vs Seattle
4 - 0
21 April, 2012
Phil Humber became only the 21st pitcher ever to throw a perfect game in 2012, and the third Chicago pitcher to do so. The game ended in dramatic fashion, coming down to a 3-2 count against Brendan Ryan. Humber got him swinging on a low and wide pitch that missed catcher A.J. Pierzynski's glove. Ryan thought he had checked his swing and Pierzynski had to throw to first to secure the final out.
Common questions
Are these a good gift for a White Sox fan?
Yes. This coaster set is made for a White Sox fan who really knows and loves the team. They’ll recognize moments like Podsednik's Walk-Off HR and Konerko's Grand Slam, and each coaster gives them another piece of White Sox history to talk about. It’s more than a logo on a coaster — it’s a way to relive the plays and memories that made them a fan. It’s especially suited to a dad, husband, friend, or hard-to-shop-for White Sox fan who already owns the usual team gear.
Is this a good Christmas gift for a White Sox fan?
Yes. These coasters make a unique Christmas gift for White Sox fans, especially someone who already has plenty of jerseys, hats, and traditional team gear. Each coaster brings back a memorable moment from White Sox history, making the set both useful and personal to someone who really follows the team. Our coaster sets are especially popular as Christmas gifts, with more than 16,000 five-star reviews across Shopify and Etsy.
One customer wrote: “The quality is insane, perfectly matched description. Bought for my dad for Christmas and as a man that is incredibly hard to buy for he loved them and are a great convo starter with his friends, Great gift would buy from this seller again.” — Etsy Customer, January 11, 2023
What makes these different from traditional sports merchandise?
These coasters focus on memorable plays rather than a team logo. Each one features an original Playbook diagram of a real White Sox play, drawn to show how the moment unfolded. Playbook Products is not affiliated with or endorsed by White Sox or Major League Baseball.
How long do White Sox coaster orders take to ship?
Most White Sox coaster orders are processed within 1–2 business days, then typically arrive 2–4 business days after they ship (U.S.). During busy holiday periods, processing can take longer. A delivery date shown on this page is an estimate.
What if a coaster arrives cracked or damaged?
Send us a photo of the damaged coaster within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement. Please hold onto the damaged coaster until we let you know otherwise.
Are these coaster designs AI-generated?
No. I've spent hundreds of hours reviewing footage of these plays and drawing them up as they happened. The finished drawings are laser-etched onto the coasters using our own machines. The artwork is not generated by AI. I appreciate you supporting a small business.
