In coach Tony Elliott's biggest upset win of his career, University of Virginia wins 46 to 38 as an un-ranked team over #8 Florida St. An absolute thriller. Not only was this a huge upset, but it took 2 overtimes to complete this game. After Florida tied the game late in the 4th quarter to force overtime, both teams made field goals in the first OT to force 2OT. UVA scored a touchdown in their 2OT attempt, forcing Florida St. to go for it on 4th and 12. A strong blitz forces Florida QB to throw a bit sooner than needed. The throw was intercepted by Ja'son Prevard and fans immediately stormed the field. This improves UVA to 4-1 on the season in a wide open ACC conference.

Playing in front of a national audience, Virginia had a tall task with #2 Florida State coming to town. Florida State, who had joined the conference 5 years earlier, had yet to lose a game against another ACC opponent. That was until the Cavaliers took them down, featuring a spectacular 72 yard touchdown catch by receiver Demetrius Allen, and finished with a controversial goal line stand which saw Seminole's RB Warrick Dunn get his helmet, but not the football, across the goal line.

The Cavaliers went in to the half trailing 29-7 against their arch rivals Virginia Tech and were going to need to play a near perfect second half in order to come away with the victory. That's exactly what they got with an interception return and two Aaron Brooks touchdown passes. With a little over two minutes remaining, Brooks hit a streaking Ahmad Dawson for a 47 yard touchdown that put the Cavs up 36-32 and would prove to be the game winning touchdown.

In Virginia's first victory playing at Florida State in program history, true freshman Kevin Parks gave the Cavaliers a one point lead with under two minutes remaining with his 10 yard touchdown rush that featured great blocking and impressive elusiveness by Parks.
