1988 Regular Season
The Play
Notre Dame vs Miami
31 - 30
15 October, 1988
In the "Catholics vs. Convicts" game Miami scored with 45 seconds left to bring the score to 31-30. Instead of kicking the extra point to tie the game, Jimmy Johnson went for the 2 point conversion and the win. Pat Terrell knocked down Miami quarterback Steve Walsh's throw to preserver the win.
1980 Regular Season
From 51 yards
Notre Dame vs Michigan
29 - 27
20 September, 1980
#8 Notre Dame faced #12 Michigan in South Bend. With 41 seconds remaining, Notre Dame denied Michigan's 2 point conversion setting up one last drive. Harry Oliver kicked a 51 yard field goal, just clearing the North goal post as time expired to win the game 29-27.
1971 Regular Season
The Genuflect Play
Notre Dame vs Purdue
8 - 7
25 September, 1971
It was a low scoring muddy game. Late in the 4th Notre Dame recovered a fumble for a TD, and Ara Parseghian called for the "Genuflect play." On the 2 pt conversion, QB Pat Steenberge faked a sweep and Mike Creaney faked a block, got to his knee and then slipped into the end zone to make the catch.
1992 Regular Season
Snow Bowl
Notre Dame vs Penn State
17 - 16
14 November, 1992
With 20 seconds remaining in the game dubbed "the Snow Bowl," Notre Dame scored its only touchdown and Lou Holtz decided to go for 2, drawing up a play on the spot. Quarterback Rick Mirer scrambled and found Reggie Brooks in the back of the end zone for the game-winning conversion.

Yes. This coaster set is made for a Notre Dame fan who really knows and loves the team. They’ll recognize moments like The Play and From 51 yards, and each coaster gives them another piece of Notre Dame history to talk about. It’s more than a logo on a coaster — it’s a way to relive the plays and memories that made them a fan. It’s especially suited to a dad, husband, friend, or hard-to-shop-for Notre Dame fan who already owns the usual team gear.
Is this a good Christmas gift for a Notre Dame fan?▾

What makes these different from traditional sports merchandise?▾
These coasters focus on memorable plays rather than a team logo. Each one features an original Playbook diagram of a real Notre Dame play, drawn to show how the moment unfolded. Playbook Products is not affiliated with or endorsed by Notre Dame or the NCAA.
How long do Notre Dame coaster orders take to ship?▾
Most Notre Dame coaster orders are processed within 1–2 business days, then typically arrive 2–4 business days after they ship (U.S.). During busy holiday periods, processing can take longer. A delivery date shown on this page is an estimate.
What if a coaster arrives cracked or damaged?▾
Send us a photo of the damaged coaster within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement. Please hold onto the damaged coaster until we let you know otherwise.
Are these coaster designs AI-generated?▾
No. I've spent hundreds of hours reviewing footage of these plays and drawing them up as they happened. The finished drawings are laser-etched onto the coasters using our own machines. The artwork is not generated by AI. I appreciate you supporting a small business.
