2016 Regular Season Week 10
Steel City Silencer
Cowboys vs Pittsburgh
35 - 30
13 November, 2016
With only 15 second left on the clock for the Dallas Cowboys, down 29-30 on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a strong run straight down the middle, running back Ezekiel Elliott was untouchable on this 32-yard run for the game winning touchdown. No one was even close. The Cowboys would go on to win the game 35-30 on the road.
1993 Conference Championship
Aikman to Harper
Cowboys vs San Francisco
30 - 20
17 January, 1993
In the 1992-93 NFL season, the (15-3) Dallas Cowboys take on the (15-3) San Francisco 49ers in San Francisco at Candlestick Stadium for the NFC Championship game. In the last 10 NFC matchups, the home team has won. Having just given up a touchdown to allow the 49ers back to within 4, the Cowboys throw a perfect slant pass from Troy Aikman to Alvin Harper from their own 20 yard line. The ball was caught on their own 40 yard line, and run to the 9 for a 71 yard run. This would be the biggest play of the drive and would lead to the Cowboys last touchdown to put away the 49ers and clinch their spot in the 1993 NFL Super Bowl. The Cowboys would go on to win Super Bowl XXVII 52-17 over the Buffalo Bills.
2002 Regular Season: Week 8
Emmitt Breaks The Record
Cowboys vs Seattle
14 - 17
27 October, 2002
On this day in NFL history, Emmitt Smith set the all time rushing yards record with this 11-yard carry that looked to almost be a long run for a touchdown. Down 7-14 with nine-and-a-half minutes left in the game, ball on their own 30 yard line, the Dallas Cowboys need set up a strong side run for Emmitt Smith. While it wasn't enough for a touchdown in the moment, it setup first down for the Cowboys and led to their last touchdown of the game. They would go on to fall to the Seattle Seahawks 17-14. However, all eyes were Emmitt Smith after he broke the NFL All Time Rushing Yard Record.
1975 Divisional Round
Hail Mary Invention
Cowboys vs Minnesota
17 - 14
28 December, 1975
With 32 second left, down 10-14 in the NFL's NFC Divisional Round, the Dallas Cowboys need to score, stuck on the 50 yard line vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Roger Staubach takes the snap, steps back five yards, waits, then heaves one of the most famous 'Hail Mary' passes in NFL history. Wide Receiver Drew Pearson catches the ball thrown just a bit behind him on the 5 yard line, turns, steps over the defender and into the endzone for the Cowboys only touchdown this game. From there, the Cowboys just had to hold on for the final seconds to win the NFC divisional round to move on the NFC Championship.
