For the first time in club history, Crystal Palace wins the 2025-26 UEFA Conference League Championship, earning the South London club a direct qualification to the 2026-27 UEFA Europa League. In a close game against Rayo Vallecano, the first half went scoreless. Early in the second half, Adam Wharton brings the ball up the left side and boots it from just outside the 18'. The ball had to much heat and the keeper gave up a big rebound directly to the left foot of Jean-Philippe Mateta who just had to angle it in for Crystal Palaces' first and only goal of the match. In such a tight game, one goal is all it took for Crystal Palace to win their first ever European Trophy.
