1993 National Semifinals
The Five to the Finals
Michigan vs Kentucky
81 - 78
3 April, 1993
In the battle of two #1 seeds to see who would go to the Finals, the Fab Five prevailed over Kentucky. Michigan had the early lead but Kentucky battled back to take it to OT. With under a minute to go, Michigan was up by one-point and trying to extend their lead. Ray Jackson fed the ball into Chris Webber for the layup and the final points of the game. Michigan went on to face North Carolina in the title game.
2018 Second Round
At the Buzzer!
Michigan vs Houston
64 - 63
17 March, 2018
One of the greatest moments in Michigan basketball history, Jordan Poole's game-winner at the buzzer pushes Michigan through. A truly iconic moment.
1989 National Championship
First Championship
Michigan vs Seton Hall
80 - 79
3 April, 1989
Seton Hall had battled back from a first half deficit to force Michigan to OT in the National Championship game. Michigan was down a point with only 3 seconds remaining in OT when Seton Hall fouled Rumeal Robinson. In the most clutch free throws of his life, Robinson sank both shots to give Michigan the win and their first National Championship.
2013 Round of 16
30-Footer Comeback
Michigan vs Kansas
87 - 85
29 March, 2013
Michigan made it all the way to the Championship game in 2013; their deepest tournament run since the Fab Five. To make it there they had to upset #1 Kansas in the Round of 16. With 4 seconds remaining, trailing by 3, Trey Burke hit a three-pointer to tie the game and send it to OT. Michigan prevailed in OT to move to the National Quarterfinals.
Common questions
Are these a good gift for a Michigan fan?▾
Yes. This coaster set is made for a Michigan fan who really knows and loves the team. They’ll recognize moments like The Five to the Finals and Wolverines™ at the Buzzer, and each coaster gives them another piece of Michigan history to talk about. It’s more than a logo on a coaster — it’s a way to relive the plays and memories that made them a fan. It’s especially suited to a dad, husband, friend, or hard-to-shop-for Michigan fan who already owns the usual team gear.
Is this a good Christmas gift for a Michigan fan?▾
Yes. These coasters make a unique Christmas gift for Michigan fans, especially someone who already has plenty of jerseys, hats, and traditional team gear. Each coaster brings back a memorable moment from Michigan history, making the set both useful and personal to someone who really follows the team. Our coaster sets are especially popular as Christmas gifts, with more than 16,000 five-star reviews across Shopify and Etsy.
One customer wrote: “The quality is insane, perfectly matched description. Bought for my dad for Christmas and as a man that is incredibly hard to buy for he loved them and are a great convo starter with his friends, Great gift would buy from this seller again.” — Etsy Customer, January 11, 2023
What makes these different from traditional sports merchandise?▾
These coasters focus on memorable plays rather than a team logo. Each one features an original Playbook diagram of a real Michigan play, drawn to show how the moment unfolded. Playbook Products is not affiliated with or endorsed by Michigan or the NCAA.
How long do Michigan coaster orders take to ship?▾
Most Michigan coaster orders are processed within 1–2 business days, then typically arrive 2–4 business days after they ship (U.S.). During busy holiday periods, processing can take longer. A delivery date shown on this page is an estimate.
What if a coaster arrives cracked or damaged?▾
Send us a photo of the damaged coaster within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement. Please hold onto the damaged coaster until we let you know otherwise.
Are these coaster designs AI-generated?▾
No. I've spent hundreds of hours reviewing footage of these plays and drawing them up as they happened. The finished drawings are laser-etched onto the coasters using our own machines. The artwork is not generated by AI. I appreciate you supporting a small business.
