1993 Adams Division Semifinals: Game 4
May Day
Sabres vs Boston
6 - 5
24 April, 1993
In a series in which 3 of 4 games went into overtime, it was Buffalo who consistently found the winning goals. This continued in Game 4 as the game went into OT and Brad May scored the game, series, and sweep clinching goal on what is now known as "May Day".
1975 Stanley Cup Finals: Game 3
The Fog Game
Sabres vs Philadelphia
5 - 4
20 May, 1975
One of hockey's most iconic games, the 1975 Stanley Cup Finals Game 3 had an eerie fog settle over the ice making playing conditions difficult. The game went into overtime where after nearly 19 minutes Robert rocketed a shot past the goalie who barely even know a shot had been taken.
2006 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Game 5
Shorthanded Series Winner
Sabres vs Ottawa
3 - 2
13 May, 2006
The 2006 Buffalo team was top notch and only barely lost out on a title in a heartbreaking Game 7. Nonetheless, the playoff run that year had some notable moments, none moreso than Pominville's shorthanded series-winning goal in overtime.
2007 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Game 5
Drury ties it
Sabres vs New York
2 - 1
4 May, 2007
With only 7.7 seconds remaining in Game 5 with the series tied 2-2, Drury was able to find the net and send the game into OT where Buffalo would eventually win and take the series lead.
Common questions
Are these a good gift for a Sabres fan?▾
Yes. This coaster set is made for a Sabres fan who really knows and loves the team. They’ll recognize moments like May Day and The Fog Game, and each coaster gives them another piece of Sabres history to talk about. It’s more than a logo on a coaster — it’s a way to relive the goals and memories that made them a fan. It’s especially suited to a dad, husband, friend, or hard-to-shop-for Sabres fan who already owns the usual team gear.
Is this a good Christmas gift for a Sabres fan?▾
Yes. These coasters make a unique Christmas gift for Sabres fans, especially someone who already has plenty of jerseys, hats, and traditional team gear. Each coaster brings back a memorable moment from Sabres history, making the set both useful and personal to someone who really follows the team. Our coaster sets are especially popular as Christmas gifts, with more than 16,000 five-star reviews across Shopify and Etsy.
One customer wrote: “The quality is insane, perfectly matched description. Bought for my dad for Christmas and as a man that is incredibly hard to buy for he loved them and are a great convo starter with his friends, Great gift would buy from this seller again.” — Etsy Customer, January 11, 2023
What makes these different from traditional sports merchandise?▾
These coasters focus on memorable goals rather than a team logo. Each one features an original Playbook diagram of a real Sabres goal, drawn to show how the moment unfolded. Playbook Products is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Sabres or the NHL.
How long do Sabres coaster orders take to ship?▾
Most Sabres coaster orders are processed within 1–2 business days, then typically arrive 2–4 business days after they ship (U.S.). During busy holiday periods, processing can take longer. A delivery date shown on this page is an estimate.
What if a coaster arrives cracked or damaged?▾
Send us a photo of the damaged coaster within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement. Please hold onto the damaged coaster until we let you know otherwise.
Are these coaster designs AI-generated?▾
No. I've spent hundreds of hours reviewing footage of these goals and drawing them up as they happened. The finished drawings are laser-etched onto the coasters using our own machines. The artwork is not generated by AI. I appreciate you supporting a small business.
