With an MVP performance, USA's goalie, Connor Hellebuyck makes a clutch save with the paddle of his stick on a wide open net to keep the 2026 Gold Medal Men's Hockey game tied at 1. After a shot from the left circle, the puck trickles past Hellebuyck's right skate to a wide open Toews. However, it was Hellebuyck's stick that redirects a flying puck through the crease and into the corner, preserving a 1-1 tie early in the third period. USA would go on to win the men's Gold Medal Match for the first time since 1980's Miracle on Ice team, with a 2-1 win over Team Canada.
