19 February, 2026
The USA Women's National Hockey Team played a perfect 7-0 Olympic series, capping this perfect streak off with a 2-1 overtime win over Team Canada in the Gold Medal Game. Early in the first OT, forward, Taylor Heise skates back with the puck in her own end. Looking up ice, she makes a great stretch pass to Megan Keller streaking up the ice on the near wall. She takes the puck in to Team Canada's zone, makes a great move around the Canadian defender, then backhands the game winning goal to cap off the best USA Olympic run of all time. Team USA dominated this tournament, facing 99 shots and only allowing 2 goals the entire tournament. Aerin Frankel ended the tournament witha .985 save percentage and record 0.39 GAA to boost Team USA to this win. All time stats for an all time team.

The Shootout
Team USA Women's Hockey vs Canada
3 - 2
21 February, 2018
In the gold medal game at the 2018 Winter Olympics, the United States women's national ice hockey team and the Canada women's national ice hockey team battled to a 2–2 tie through regulation and overtime, forcing a dramatic shootout. After multiple tense rounds and clutch saves from goaltender Maddie Rooney, it was veteran forward Jocelyne Lamoureux who delivered the defining moment. Skating in on her attempt, Lamoureux came in slow on the goalie, faked left, pulling the puck laterally across the crease before slipping it past the Canadian goalie with a calm backhand finish. The goal stood as the decisive tally of the shootout when Rooney denied Canada’s final shooter, sealing the victory. Lamoureux’s brilliance secured a 3–2 win and clinched the United States’ first Olympic gold in women’s hockey since 1998.

Team USA Women's Hockey vs Canada
3 - 1
17 February, 1998
In the gold medal game of the 1998 Winter Olympics, the United States women's national ice hockey team seized momentum with their pivotal second goal against the Canada women's national ice hockey team. Midway through the game, forward Sandra Whyte capitalized on sustained offensive pressure, finding space in the slot and snapping a shot past the Canadian netminder to extend the American lead. The play, set up by crisp puck movement and relentless forechecking, shifted the energy firmly to the U.S. bench and silenced the Canadian surge. With captain Cammi Granato and her teammates pressing the attack, the goal underscored Team USA’s speed and composure on the sport’s biggest stage. Whyte’s finish proved decisive, helping propel the United States to a historic 3–1 victory and the first Olympic gold medal ever awarded in women’s ice hockey.
