1999 FA Cup Semi-Final
Setting up the Treble
Manchester United vs Arsenal
2 - 1
13 April, 1999
The greatest game in FA Cup History. Period. Arsenal and United were like two heavy-weight boxers, trading blows in a violent clash that saw United's lead through a Beckham strike cancelled by a classy Bergkamp long-range finish. Arsenal then had a goal ruled offside. United's captain, Roy Keane, was sent off. Then Arsenal had a penalty saved. It was only in extra time that Ryan Giggs slalomed through Arsenal's backline (arguably the greatest ever) to score and, infamously, take off his shirt in whirling celebration.
1977 FA Cup Final
Denying the Treble
Manchester United vs Liverpool
2 - 1
21 May, 1977
Manchester United prevented Liverpool from becoming the first British team to win the treble... ensuring they could be the first to do so in 1999.
1993 Premier League
Fergie Time
Manchester United vs Sheffield Wednesday
2 - 1
10 April, 1993
His second header goal of the match, the timing of the 96th minute goal would be referred to afterwards as ???Fergie time.??? This win put United on top of the table; they would sweep the final five games earning Sir Alex Ferguson his first Premier League title.
1968 European Cup Final
