2026 Stanley Cup Finals: Game 2
Rocket Power in OT
Hurricanes vs Las Vegas

Seth Jarvis, Center for the Carolina Hurricanes blasts the game winner in OT past the Vegas Knights goal tender at 84.76mph. The fastest of the playoffs. Jarvis' missile boosted the Canes to a the win, evening the series 1-1. This game was wild start to finish with Las Vegas scoring in each of the first two periods and again in the third, while the Canes scored 3 in the third after looking absent for the first two periods. It set the stage for a great OT where Carolina, on the power play, was able to cap game 2 at home and head to Vegas with the series tied 1-1 in the 2026 NHL Stanley Cup Final

2026 Stanley Cup Finals: Game 5
The Bus STOP

Goaltending was on full display for the Carolina Hurricanes in their 2026 campaign. It started out with Frederick Andersen going 12-1 in the first 3 rounds, with two 4-0 series to start and 3 shut out entering the Stanley Cup final vs the Las Vegas Golden Knights. However, in game 5 of the series, we saw a new face, Brandon Bussi. Bussi had not played a single minute of gametime hockey for two months leading up to this game. With the series tied 2-2 and at home, it was a big moment for the Carolina Hurricanes. They needed a win, and The Bus showed up huge. This save was a highlight reel for Bussi, with a Vegas player in his face all alone, he stood tall and made the glove save to maintain a 3-1 lead. Leads in this series were not a guarantee with many multi-goal leads evaporating late in games. Bussi went on to finish the series in net, shutting down the Golden Knights and finishing on a high in Game 6 with a shutout and a Stanley Cup Championship.

With a Stanley Cup on the line, the Carolina Hurricanes score on only the second shot on net of the game. A bouncing puck couldn't be settled by the Vegas Golden Knights entering their zone and the Canes pounce on the opportunity to move the puck up the left wall to a wide open Taylor Hall. Hall skates it in an Carter Hart and beats him far side, low glove side. This goal would set the tone for the game and be the first of a 3 goal shutout. After 20 years, the Carolina Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup Championship for the second time in club history. Of note, head coach Rod Brind'Amour was the captain of the Canes when they won their first cup in 2006. He becomes the 7th coach in NHL history to have won a cup as a player and as a head coach, and the 4th ever to do it as team captain and then head coach. The Carolina Hurricanes were dominate this playoffs. Winning 16 games, losing only 1 in the first 3 rounds and 2 in the Final with 4 shutouts through 19 games. The fewest games needed to win the Stanley Cup since 1988. The Carolina Hurricanes are your 2025-26 Stanley Cup Champions

The hero of game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Nikolaj Ehlers buries this puck past the blocker of Jakub Dobes in the early stages of OT. With this win, the Carolina Hurricanes even the series 1-1 and go on to win the next 3 games to win the series 4-1 and advance to the NHL Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 20 years. This play developed after the Montreal Canadians defense looked to get off the ice, but the Hurricanes made a quick transition up ice, giving Ehlers the right side of the ice to himself. From there is was basically 1 on 1 with the goalie. This shot was registered as the Canes 2nd hardest shot of the Stanley Cup playoffs at 84.67mph.
