1972 World Series Game 7
Start of the Dynasty
Athletics vs Cincinnati
3 - 2
22 October, 1972
The early 1970s were a dynasty for Oakland, with the team winning back-to-back-to-back championships in 1972, 1973 and 1974. The first championship of the decade was won in Game 7, and it went down to the final out. Up by only a run, Oakland's Rollie Fingers faced Pete Rose with Darrel Chaney already on base. Rose connected and drove the ball to left center, but Joe Rudi ran it down to get Oakland the win and the first of the three championships.

1989 World Series Game 4
Battle of the Bay
Athletics vs San Francisco
9 - 6
28 October, 1989
The Battle of the Bay in 1989 pitted Oakland against cross town rival San Francisco. To make it more dramatic, the Loma Prieta earthquake had just hours before the start of Game 3. Despite the pressure involved, Oakland rose to the occasion, sweeping San Francisco in 4 games to win their 4th Championship since moving to Oakland.

2002 Regular Season
Hatteberg's HR clinches 20 wins
Athletics vs Kansas City
12 - 11
4 September, 2002
In 2002 Oakland went on a winning streak, winning an American League record 20 games in a row. The 20th game was won when pinch hitter Scott Hatteberg hit a dramatic walk-off home run to win the game 12-11.

2012 Regular Season
Comeback to win the division
Athletics vs Texas
12 - 5
3 October, 2012
On June 30, 2012 no one expected Oakland to win the division. They were 13 games out in the run for the American League West, but they fought their way back in. It all came down to the game with Texas to see which of them would win the division. Oakland put on a hitting display, outscoring Texas 12-5 to take the title.

Good but was different than pictures

Pictures included the Michigan-Houston game play but sent Michigan-Duke instead.

Perfect gift!

My husband and son loved them-they recognized each of the games these plays were in and thought the coasters were so cool!

Upside Down

They are upside down. The offense is at the top, the defense is at the bottom.
