Florida State was looking for revenge for the crushing defeat they had suffered in the 1997 Sugar Bowl, and entering the game they were double ranked favorites coming in. Florida was not phased and set about winning in what is now known as the "Greatest game ever played in the Swamp." With one minute left to play, Florida was up a touchdown and Florida State had one last attempt. That attempt ended when Dwayne Thomas came up with an interception, sealing the win for Florida.

The 1997 Sugar Bowl pitted #1 Florida vs. #3 Florida State for the National Championship. Florida State kept it close in the first half, but Florida broke open the game in the 2nd for a huge lead. Already leading by 18 going into the 4th, Florida hit home two more devastating touchdown blows, including this 42 yard run by Terry Jackson, to win by a whopping 32 point margin.

#2 Florida stunned #1 Ohio State with this blowout in the Capped the blow out in the 2007 National Championship game. Florida led by 20 points at halftime and Ohio State would not score again in the game. The final score of the game came in the 4th quarter on 4th and goal with Tim Tebow rushing for the touchdown. The win gave Florida their 2nd National Championship.
2009 National Championship

Florida took the lead and held it, despite numerous comeback attempts by Oklahoma in the 2009 BCS Championship Game. Florida struck first on a 20 yard touchdown pass from Tim Tebow to Louis Murphy in the 2nd quarter. Oklahoma tied it up by half but then Florida took off in the 2nd to win by 10 points, 24 - 14. The win got Florida their 3rd Championship and 2nd in 3 years.
