2001 Regular Season
Piazza's Post 9/11 HR
Mets vs Atlanta
3 - 2
21 September, 2001
Just 10 days after 9/11, New York played their first home game since the tragedy. The players weren't even sure if they could or should play, but they knew New York needed a reason to cheer. In the bottom of the 8th, Mike Piazza gave New York a reason to celebrate. Down by a run, with one out and one man on base, Piazza took one strike and then blasted the next pitch deep into center field to give New York the lead.

I purchased the Billy Cannon Halloween Run for my dad. He loved it almost as much as he did seeing it in person!!!
