1986 World Series: Game 6
Through Buckner's Legs
Mets vs Boston
6 - 5
25 October, 1986
Mookie Wilson stepped to the plate in the 10th down one run with two outs. New York had to score or lose the World Series. Wilson determinedly fought off pitches and on a count of 2-2 pitcher Bob Stanley threw a wild pitch that allowed Kevin Mitchell to score and tie the game and to move Ray Knight into scoring position. Now with the count at 3-2, Wilson got a ground ball down the first base line. First baseman Bill Buckner moved over to field and missed the ball as it took a bounce and went through his legs. The error allowed Knight to score, and New York won the game. The momentum of the win carried into Game 7 where New York won their 2nd World Series.

1969 World Series: Game 5
1st World Series title
Mets vs Baltimore
5 - 3
16 October, 1969
Not only did the 1969 team win New York its first World Series, it was also the first team in New York history to have a winning record. New York beat a great Baltimore squad in 5 games. Jerry Koosman got the win in Game 5, when Davey Johnson hit a fly-ball to left field that Cleon Jones caught to win the Series.

2001 Regular Season
Piazza's Post 9/11 HR
Mets vs Atlanta
3 - 2
21 September, 2001
Just 10 days after 9/11, New York played their first home game since the tragedy. The players weren't even sure if they could or should play, but they knew New York needed a reason to cheer. In the bottom of the 8th, Mike Piazza gave New York a reason to celebrate. Down by a run, with one out and one man on base, Piazza took one strike and then blasted the next pitch deep into center field to give New York the lead.

2012 Regular Season
Santana's No Hitter
Mets vs St. Louis
8 - 0
1 June, 2012
It took 8,020 games but New York finally got a no-hitter thanks to Johan Santana. The no-hitter came against St. Louis, with Mike Baxter putting up a great catch in the 7th inning to preserve the no-hitter. The last out came when Santana struck out David Freese swinging on a full count.
