New York had fallen behind 2 - 3 to New Jersey in the Conference Finals, but Mark Messier delivered a hat trick in Game 6 to force Game 7 at home. With the Conference title on the line, the game went into double overtime tied at 1 apiece. A gift I’m Sure My Friend Will Like

I love the concept of this product ("greatest plays” coasters), regardless of any debate over what the greatest plays of your favorite teams are… there’s no way to distill that down to 4-5 plays. The coolness factor is the main thing here. I’m not a VA Tech fan, but I know how I would react if someone gave me me something similar. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought the contrast between the slate and the etched plays does not stand out as I think it should. Being natural stone, they have a dusty look. When I wiped one with a wet cloth they stand darkened and the plays stood out more. Maybe they could be coated with something to make the plays stand out without making the slate look too “plasticky?” Also, the slate is a little thin and I’m hoping these hold up over time. Anyway, I’m anxiously awaiting my pal’s reaction to these.
