Penn State would go on to finish the 2016 season ranked 7th, having failed to earn a top 25 ranking the previous 6 seasons. A year later Penn State would continue their climb back towards powerhouse status, achiveing another top-10 rank in 2017.

However, Miami QB, Vinny Tastaverde throws an interception to Pete Giftopoulos who runs it back to the 11 yard line where he covers the ball will 9 seconds left on the clock to win Penn State's 2nd NCAA Championship in 4 years.

Paterno led the Nittany Lions into the 1983 Sugar Bowl with hopes of beating #1 Georgia to become national champions. Only leading by 3 early in the 4th quarter, Blackledge came off of a play-action to hit Garrity streaking down the sideline who made a leaping catch to secure the 48 yard touchdown pass and give Penn State a 10 point lead. Georgia wouldn't be able to overcome the deficit as Penn State would win their first ever national championship.

Penn State vs Michigan

12 October, 2013
In the longest game in team history (at the time in 2013), Penn State defeats #18 Michigan in a white out game in the 4OT's. None of this would have been possible though without this amazing catch from Allen Robinson on the 1yd line with only 27 seconds left on the clock to setup Penn States Final touchdown of regulation to tie Michigan 34-34. This incredible 36yard pass was right on the money and Robinson did everything right to stay in bounds. This game advanced the Nittany Lions to 4-2, 1-1 Big Ten and stormed the field in celebration.
