Late into the 3rd period, the game was tied until Sissons put in the important goal that took the lead in Game 6. Nashville would score two empty net goals later to win 6-3 and clinch the western conference title, sealing their first ever appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals.

The 2017 Playoff run was historic for Nashville as a team but their first round sweep of Chicago made history for all of hockey. It was the first time ever an 8-seed completed a sweep of a 1-seed since the NHL's adoption. This series sparked the memorable run.

Nashville's first ever win in a Stanley Cup Final. The magic moment was in the 2nd period when they scored two goals in only fourty-two seconds. The arena went crazy as the atmosphere could be felt through the television. Everyone now knew, Nashville was a hockey town.
