2011 Western Conference Quarters: Game 3
The Comeback
Sharks vs Los Angeles
6 - 5
19 April, 2011
It didn't look good for San Jose in Game 3 of the 2011 Quarterfinals. In the second period San Jose was already down four goals to Los Angeles. But San Jose had a rally in them. Goals from Patrick Marleau, Ryane Clowe (2 goals), Logan Couture and Joe Pavelski tied the game at 5 and pushed it to overtime. San Jose won it 3 minutes intwo overtime when Devin Setoguchi found the net off a great pass from Marleau.
2000 Western Conference Quarters: Game 7
Nolan's 90 footer
Sharks vs St. Louis
3 - 1
25 April, 2000
San Jose was already up a goal in Game 7 of the Quarterfinals vs St. Louis when Owen Nolan ripped a shot from 90 feet out. Goalie Roman Turek inexplicably tried to stop it with his chest, deflecting it into the goal. That goal turned out to be the game-winner, as San Jose went on to win 3-1 and move on to the Semifinals.
2008 Western Conference Quarters: Game 4
Thornton's winner
Sharks vs Calgary
3 - 2
15 April, 2008
It looked like Game 4 of the 2008 Quarterfinals was going to overtime tied at 2, but San Jose had other plans. With only 7.3 seconds remaining, Joe Thornton passed to Douglas Murray who took a shot on net. Thornton got a piece of it, deflecting it into the back of the net. The win gave San Jose the momentum to win the series in seven.
1994 Western Conference Quarters: Game 7
The Upset
Sharks vs Detroit
3 - 2
30 April, 1994
San Jose was the underdog facing a dominant #1 seed Detroit in the first round of the 1994 Playoffs. But the team was up to the challenge, taking Detroit to 7 games and tied at two apiece late in the 3rd period. Detroit goalie Chris Osgood made a judgment error, coming out of the net to play the puck into the boards where Jamie Baker was waiting. Baker slapped it into the empty net for the game-winner, propelling San Jose on to the Semifinals.
Common questions
Are these a good gift for a Sharks fan?▾
Yes. This coaster set is made for a Sharks fan who really knows and loves the team. They’ll recognize moments like The Comeback and Nolan's 90 footer, and each coaster gives them another piece of Sharks history to talk about. It’s more than a logo on a coaster — it’s a way to relive the goals and memories that made them a fan. It’s especially suited to a dad, husband, friend, or hard-to-shop-for Sharks fan who already owns the usual team gear.
Is this a good Christmas gift for a Sharks fan?▾
Yes. These coasters make a unique Christmas gift for Sharks fans, especially someone who already has plenty of jerseys, hats, and traditional team gear. Each coaster brings back a memorable moment from Sharks history, making the set both useful and personal to someone who really follows the team. Our coaster sets are especially popular as Christmas gifts, with more than 16,000 five-star reviews across Shopify and Etsy.
One customer wrote: “The quality is insane, perfectly matched description. Bought for my dad for Christmas and as a man that is incredibly hard to buy for he loved them and are a great convo starter with his friends, Great gift would buy from this seller again.” — Etsy Customer, January 11, 2023
What makes these different from traditional sports merchandise?▾
These coasters focus on memorable goals rather than a team logo. Each one features an original Playbook diagram of a real Sharks goal, drawn to show how the moment unfolded. Playbook Products is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Sharks or the NHL.
How long do Sharks coaster orders take to ship?▾
Most Sharks coaster orders are processed within 1–2 business days, then typically arrive 2–4 business days after they ship (U.S.). During busy holiday periods, processing can take longer. A delivery date shown on this page is an estimate.
What if a coaster arrives cracked or damaged?▾
Send us a photo of the damaged coaster within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement. Please hold onto the damaged coaster until we let you know otherwise.
Are these coaster designs AI-generated?▾
No. I've spent hundreds of hours reviewing footage of these goals and drawing them up as they happened. The finished drawings are laser-etched onto the coasters using our own machines. The artwork is not generated by AI. I appreciate you supporting a small business.
