Ovechkin on the power play scores and proceeds to celebrate with a penguin slide into the neutral zone as the entire Capitals bench clears to congratulate him on his achievement. Following the goal, his family, the NHL, Gary Bettman, and Gretzky held a short ceremony acknowledging the achievement. New York Islanders goalie, Ilya Sorokin was the only current goalie to never allow an Ovechkin goal until today when he became the 183rd goalie Ovechkin has scored on. Save that for trivia night.
