Having forced a Game 7, Tampa Bay was still alive and their chances of lifting the Stanley Cup were present. Fedotenko lifted the anxiety early with his first period goal and Tampa Bay would win the game 2-1, securing their first Stanley Cup victory.

The 2015 playoff run was terrific for Tampa Bay. Although the Stanley Cup series didn't end how fans would've wanted, the series against Pittsburgh and New York were terrific to watch as Tampa won Game 7 of the Conference Finals to seal their spot in the Stanley Cup finals for the 2nd time.

After such a wonderful run into the Stanley Cup Finals, the dream was nearly over as Tampa Bay trailed in the series and were enemy territory as Game 7 went into a second overtime in Calgary's home arena. St. Louis quick reaction rebound goal kept title hopes alive and forced a Game 7.
