7 January, 2008
LSU's 2nd national title in 5 years, it was the pinnacle of LSU's greatest period in their history. Winning this title helped cement LSU as a juggernaut team in this decade, posting a 56-10 record from '03-'07 as well as becoming the first team ever to win 2 BCS national titles

1959 Sugar Bowl

LSU vs Clemson

1 January, 1959
The only touchdown of the 1959 Sugar Bowl, legendary LSU halfback Billy Cannon took a pitch and, rather then run, he threw it to put LSU up 7-0. Finishing off the season atop the polls with a 11-0 record, it is LSU's only perfect season in history.

If you’ve ever attended an LSU football game, you’ve seen the Billy Cannon run up on the large screen. One of the most memorable plays in LSU history, Heisman-winner Cannon took a punt return through what seemed like the entire Ole Miss team to score the only touchdown of the game against #3 ranked Ole Miss.
