After the Fiesta Bowl and NBC stepping up, the National Championship game was played in Tempe, AZ. With 18 seconds left in the 4th quarter, down by 4 points, and 4th&goal, the Miami Hurricanes are on the 13 yard line and need to score a touchdown. However, Miami QB, Vinny Tastaverde throws an interception to Pete Giftopoulos who runs it back to the 11 yard line where he covers the ball will 9 seconds left on the clock to win Penn State's 2nd NCAA Championship in 4 years.
