Sporting Kansas City vs Chicago
1 - 0
15 October, 2000
In their first trip to the MLS Cup Finals Kansas City took home the title. Facing a strong Chicago side, Kansas City struck early, making a 4 on 4 run in the 11th minute. Chris Klein took the ball up the right side and crossed into the box and a minor deflection left the ball right at Miklos Molnar's feet. Molnar battled defender Jesse Marsch and put the ball in the lower right corner of the goal. It was the only goal of the game and earned Kansas City their first championship.
